Shosuro Jimen became the Emerald Champion in 1169. He won the competition after reaching the final of the dueling competition where he forced the superior duelist Kakita Noritoshi to concede because Jimen threatened the lifes of Noritoshi's family and the honor of the Crane Clan and it's champion Doji Domotai.
